The Ant

1. Tah Seen, these are the verses of the Qur’an, and a clarifying Book,
2. Guidance and glad tidings to the believers,
3. Who uphold the prayers and perform the purifications, and they are, about the hereafter, they are certain.
4. Those who believe not in the hereafter: We have decorated their deeds for them, they have gone astray,
5. Those have bad suffering, and they, in the hereafter, are the biggest losers.
6. And you [the messenger] do announce the Qur’an from the fund of a Knowledgeable Sovereign.
7. When Moses said to his people: “I have found comfort in a fire, I shall bring you news from it, or I bring a torch meteor, may you grill”.
8. So, when He came to it he was called that blessed is he who is in the fire and those around it and Transcendent is God the Lord of the two worlds.
9. “O Moses, it is I God The Exultant The Sovereign,
10. “And release/meet your staff/alpha”, when he saw it vibrating as if a demon he turned back and did not return, “O Moses fear none, messengers fear none in Me,
11. “Except those who darken, then they change good after ill, for I am Forgiving Compassionate,
12. “And insert your hand in your side, it comes out white without evil, in nine Paragons to the Pharaoh and his people, they are a people aberrant”.
13. So when our Paragons/Verses came to them to bestow vision they said: “this is distancing sorcery”
14. And they repudiated them, and their selves became certain of them in darkness, and they were raised: look what was the consequence for the despoilers.
15. And We brought David and Solomon knowledge, they said: “the homage is to God Who elevated us above many of His believing abiding in Him”,
16. And Solomon inherited David, and he said: “O people, we have been taught the reasoning of the flyers, and we have been given of everything, this is certain elevation”.
17. And were summoned Solomon’s soldiers, of the Gone people, and people and the flyers, to him, and they were deployed.
18. And when they came to the valley of the ants/liars, one liar said: “O liars, enter your dwellings so Solomon and his soldiers crush you not while they are unaware”,
19. So he smiled and laughed of her say and said: “Lord, deploy me to thank Thee for the Providence Thou didst bestow on my Parents, and that I do good that satisfies Thee, and do enter me by Thy Compassion in the righteous abiders in Thee”.
20. And he called the flyers and said: “how come I see not the hoopoe/Psalmist, or is he of the absent ones?
21. “I shall inundate him with a sweet drink, or I shall kill him [of euphoria], so he comes to me with obvious authority”.
22. So, he stayed not far, and said he: “I have encompassed what you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news,
23. “I found a woman ruling them, she has been given of everything, she has a mighty throne,
24. “I saw her and her people bowing to the sun below God, Satan has embellished their deeds, he has swayed them away from the Way, they follow not a guide,
25. “Hence they prostrate not to God who brings out the potential of the skies and the earth, and knows what they secret and disclose,
26. “God, there is no god but He, The Lord of the Mighty Throne”.
27. Said he [Solomon]: “we shall look if you are honest, or you are of the liars,
28. “Go with this Book of mine, and offer it to them, then leave them, and look what they will return”,
29. She said: “O people, has been relayed to me a holy Book,
30. “It is from Solomon, and he is by God’s Summum, Compassion The Compassionate,
31. “That be not haughty over me, and do come to me muslims/surrenderers”,
32. Said she: “Advise me about my matter, I shall make no decision until you have witnessed”.
33. They said: “We are a people of power and we are resolute, the call is yours, so look whatever you command”.
34. Said she: “When kings enter a country they despoil it and make the honourable of its people submissive, and thus they do,
35. “I am sender to them a gift, and I am awaiting the messenger’s come back”.
36. So when he came to Solomon said he: “Do you supply me with money? What God has bestowed on me is better than what he bestowed on you, but you rejoice in your gift.
37. “Return to them, we shall come to them with an army the front of which they have not seen, we shall bring them out of it submissive, they will be belittled”.
38. Said he: “O people, which one of you will bring to me her throne, before they/you come to me as surrenderers? [we read تأتونى as a possible reading, and the coherence of the Verse is reserved.]
39. A demon of the Gone people said: “I will bring it to you and before you rise from your seat, and I am over it strong and sincere”.
40. Said the one who has the knowledge of the Book: “I will bring Him to you before your vision returns to you”, so when he [Solomon] saw Him settled in Him said he [Solomon]: “this is my Lord’s Elevation to try me: thankfulness or darkness? He who is thankful his thankfulness is for himself, and he who darkens: my Lord is Needless and Lofty”.
41. Said he [Solomon]: “Discredit her throne for her, we shall see if she is guided or becomes of the unguided ones”,
42. So, when she came [to Solomon’s Temple] she was asked: “is this how your throne is?” she said: “as if it is”, and We were given knowledge before her and We were surrenderers.
43. And what barred her was what she worshipped below God, she is of a darkened people.
44. It was said to her: “enter the Edifice”, so when she saw it she thought it a pond and she [rolled up her dress] exposed her legs, said he [Solomon]: “it is an Edifice carved out of solid rock”, said she: “my Lord, I have done wrong by myself, and I have surrendered with Solomon to God the Lord of the two worlds”.
45. And We sent to Thamud their Brother Saleh, that worship God, and there they were two parties quarelling.
46. Said he: “O people, why do you hasten to the evil before the good? if only you ask God’s Forgiveness, may you be mercified”,
47. They said: “have been inauspicious to us, you and those with you”, said he: “your inauspiciousness is in God, you are a people easily deluded”.
48. And in the city were nine men despoiling the earth and not reforming.
49. They said: “swear an oath by God to one another to keep him and his people, then we shall say to his Master: ‘we did not witness the demise of his family, and we are honest’”,
50. And they plotted a plot and We plotted a plot, and they are not feeling,
51. Look how was the consequence of their plot, We destroyed them and their people altogether,
52. There are their dwellings deserted, of what they darkened, in this is a moral to a people of knowledge,
53. And We salvaged those who believed and were taking refuge.
54. And Lott, when he said to his people: “do you commit the obscenity while you vision?”
55. You take men as objects of lust without women, you are ignorant people”,
56. His people’s answer was none but: “drive Lott’s tribe out of your country, they are people wanting to be purified”,
57. So, We rescued him and his family, except his wife, We judged her to be of the ostracised people,
58. And We rained over them some rain, bad was the rain of the warned ones.
59. Say: “the Homage is to God and the Peace be upon His abiders whom He selected, is God the Good or what they affix/attach?”
60. Is He Who created the heavens and the earth, and descended to you water from the sky, We germinated gardens by it, of pleasant view, you [the people] were not to germinate its trees, is a god with God? But they are a people who equate.
61. Is He Who made the earth a settlement, and made through it rivers, and made in it anchoring things, and made between the two seas [of humanity] a barrier, is a god with God? But most of them know not.
62. Is He Who responds to the harmed when he invokes Him, and removes the ill, and makes you inheritors of the earth, is a god with God? But little do they remember.
63. Or is He Who guides you in the somber of the land and the water, and Who sends the breeze of glad tidings between the hands of His Compassion, is a god with God? Lofty is God above all they affix/attach.
64. Or is He who begins the creation and iterates it, and Who provides you from the sky and the earth, is a god with God? Forward your proof if you are honest.
65. Say: “no one knows who is in the heavens and the earth the Unseen except God, and they feel not where and when they will be remitted”.
66. Nay, their knowledge will be brought forward in the hereafter, nay, they are in doubt of it, nay they are of it blinded.
67. And those who darkened said: “so as we were dust, and our fathers, we will be brought out?
68. “We have been promised this before, this is but the legends of the early ones”.
69. Say: “walk the earth and look what was the consequence to the criminals”.
70. Be not saddened [addressing the messenger] about them, be not frustrated of what they plan.
71. And they say: “so when is this date if you are honest?”
72. Say: “it may have been advanced to you: some of what you hasten for”.
73. And your Lord is of Graciousness over the people but most of them are not thankful.
74. And your Lord knows what their chests harbor and what they announce.
75. Nothing goes out of sight in the heavens and the earth except by a set book.
76. This Qur’an recounts to the Israelites most of things about which they differ,
77. And it is guidance and compassion to the believers.
78. And your Lord judges between them by His Sovereignty, is He Exalted Knower,
79. Do rely on God, for you are on the Law the discriminant.
80. You cannot make the dead hear, you cannot make the deaf hear the call when they turn back away,
81. Neither can you guide the blind in their bewilderment, you can only make those who believe our Verses hear, those are the muslims/surrenderers.
82. And when the Word befalls them We bring out a beast in the earth to talk to them. Indeed, the people are not certain of our Verses.
83. And when We gather of every nation a crowd of those who falsify Our Verses, they will be lodged,
84. So when they come, says He: “have you falsified my Verses, and you have comprehended it not of knowledge, so what have you been doing?”,
85. And the judgement has befallen them of what they darkened, and they speak not,
86. Have they not seen that We made the night for them to repose in it, and the day for vision, in this are miracles for the people who believe.
87. And the day it is blown into the apex [of people’s heads], all in the heavens and the earth panic, except whomever God will, they come to Him submitting,
88. And you see the mountains, you reckon them still, they are passing like passing clouds, God’s Making, Who perfected everything, He is All Informed of what you do.
89. Whoever comes with the radiant one [self], they get better, and they are thence all secure from fear,
90. And whoever comes with the bad one, their faces are thrown in the fire, will you be rewarded except what you were doing?
91. I am only commanded to abide in the Lord of this town that He forbade, to Him is everything, I am commanded to be of the muslims,
92. And that I recite the Qur’an, whoever is guided is guided for himself, and whoever is bewildered : say: “I am of the warners”,
93. And say: “the Homage is to God, He will show you His Paragons, so you may know them, and your Lord is not oblivious of what you do”.
