Surah 31
Lukeman
1. Aleph, Laam, Meem [A L M],
2. These are the verses of the Book of Wisdom,
3. Guidance and compassion to the radiant ones,
4. Those who uphold the prayers and perform the purifications, and they, of the hereafter, they are certain,
5. Those are on guidance from their Lord, those are the achievers,
6. And of the people are those who buy the distractions of conversations/hadith, in order to divert from the Way of God without knowledge, he takes it [life] in mockery, those have a demeaning suffering,
7. And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away pridefully, as though he hasn’t heard them, as though there’s a block in his ears, do deliver [addressing the messenger] to him the omen of a painful suffering,
8. That those who have believed and did good, for them are the gardens of abundance,
9. In it eternally: God’s promise is the Law, is He the Exalted the Sovereign,
10. Created He the heavens without pillars that you see, and laid He anchors in the earth, that it drift not with you [the people], and spread He of every walker in it, and We dropped water from the sky, by it We sprout of every noble pair,
[As explained on COB before, the expression “of every brilliant/noble pair” is not meant to imply the binary gender of all living beings, and many living beings, science has shown, are not of binary genders,
But the word pair (زوج), whether referring to humans or other forms of life: is saying that the physical manifestation of a living being is a projection of its soul in the physical world,
Thus, the pair exist simultaneously,
And for humans: on the way to Union, one reunites with one’s pair, or alpha, or right hand, as was said a few times,
This opens the many avenues in one’s mind which have been closed for many lives … and makes spiritual progress, on the Way of Union, possible …]
11. This is God’s creation, show me the creation of those below Him; nay, the darkened ones are in a distancing bewilderment,
12. And We have bestowed the Wisdom on Lukeman, that be grateful to God, and who is grateful: is indeed grateful for himself, and who distances: God is Needless and Ubiquitous,
[Without providing evidence, Islamic scholars have assigned the names of the prophets which feature in the Qur’an to characters which have no historical trail at all,
Perhaps those characters were heroes in the legends of those days, and now completely forgotten,
COB sees that the name of Lukeman shouldn’t be taken far from Luke the Apostle, although the little that is told about him in the Qur’an doesn’t seem to relate to the spread of Christianity,
That is because from a Tawheedic perspective: there’s no difference … no difference between the messages,
Anyone who still believe that Tawheed (Union) is exclusive to their belief and was incomplete before it, and hence that their belief has cancelled all the previous ones, and that there will be no more messages after their belief, until the end-of-days or a time that they have set: have read every Book, and indeed their own: wrong,
If they still believe that: they are still captives of beliefs which are not conducive to Union.]
13. And when Lukeman said to his son as he counselled him: “O my son, affix not [a thing or a human] to God, affixation to God is a great darkness”,
14. And We commanded man to [honour] his parents, his mother bore him in wane upon wane, and his separation is among the blind [we read “عامِين"]: “that be close [we read “اسكر"] to Me and to your Parents [Adam the Word, and Eve the Emotion], to Me is the destiny,
[In their reading: the gratitude to God and to the parents are equated, and affixation is, although unintentionally, thus allowed.]
15. “And if both [your parents] compel you upon affixing to Me what you have no knowledge of: obey not them, and befriend them in the low life by the Highest Standard, and follow the way of them who turned to Me, then to Me is your return, and I’ll inform you of what you were doing,
[The commandment not to follow blindly one’s parent’s religion is again irrefutable,
And how often the Grand Book has advised not to follow what we chance upon from our ancestors,
But the commandment goes only as far as rejecting their belief, while keeping a friendly relation with them:
By the Highest Standard.
This Circle will not stop reminding the people who believe that the word “معروف” does not refer to a tribe or a spiritual race of people, or that it has some supernatural connotation,
Those who have calligraphed it, in one line after another, and said this is from the messenger, to give the impression of some magic: have not done their people any favour, but indeed gave them fancy promises which are no different from those of the people of the Book of before,
And the Highest Standard was thus forgotten, or reduced to fallacy.]
16. “O my son, that if it was the weight of a mustard seed, so it is in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, brings it God, God is Clear [and] All Informed,
[The choice of the world “clear” for “لطيف": is well informed,
“Clear” has all the intended essences that are in “لطيف”,
The common usage of “لطيف" has ignored those essences, and focused only on kindness and softness…]
17. “O my son, hold up the prayers and command by the Highest Standard, deter from the abhorrible deeds, be patient over whatever strikes you, this indeed is of a resolute command,
18. “Turn not your face away from the people, walk not a celebratory [walk], God likes not every self-conceited prideful one,
19. “Walk for a purpose [not to be noticed and admired], lower your voice, indeed, the ugliest of sounds is a donkey’s bray”,
20. Have you not seen that God dedicated to you [the people] what’s in the heavens and what’s in the earth, and bestowed He onto you an exoteric and esoteric providence, and of the people are those who argue about God with neither knowledge and nor guidance, and nor a luminous Book,
21. And if it is said to them: “follow what God descended”, they say: ”nay, we follow what we chanced upon from our fathers”, even if Satan has been calling them to the suffering of hell?
22, And who surrenders his face to God while He is Effulgent: has held onto the assured handhold, and to God is the consequence of all aims,
23. And who distances: let not his distancing sadden you [addressing the messenger], to Us is their return, and We inform them of what they did, God is indeed the Knower of the emerging Identity,
[This could be equally read: the Knower of the Identity of the chests. The “emergence” and the “chest” are of the same root, and essentially concurrent.]
24. We give them a little leisure, then We bind them to a dense suffering,
25. And if you asked them: “who created the heavens and the earth”, they would surely say: “God”, say: “the Abundance/Gratitude is to God”; nay, most of them know not,
26. To God is the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, God is Needless Ubiquitous,
27. If what’s in the earth of trees is pencils, and the sea: supplying it behind it seven more seas, God’s Word wouldn’t be exhausted, God is Exalted Sovereign,
28. Your [the people] creation and your reincarnation are but as one Self, God is All Hearing Seeing,
[I don’t emphacise it enough if I said it again,
That the purpose of this Qur’anic reading is not to convert anyone to or against any Abrahamic religion,
But indeed, so you set yourselves free from all of them,
The native speakers of Arabic cannot but be awed by the magnificence of its verses, and by the deep reach inside one’s psyche of their thunder and lightning,
If those don’t experience such mindfulness upon reading it, it’s because it has been covered by the religion that is not in it, but indeed alien to it,
And when this reading has been completed: you will see, and you might have already seen: that there’s no shariah in the Qur’an, whatsoever,
Neither as prescriptions of rituals, and nor as mundane laws and traditions,
The shariah, whether Sunni, Shia or any other: is based on the discourses of the prophet, the Imams and the Khalifs,
Discourses which the warring tribes of Muslims have not agreed on,
And as said many times on this Page: even if those discourses were to be proven accurate beyond any doubt: we should keep in mind that they were for their time and circumstances,
Today they are irrelevant,
If anything: they are causing animosities and disasters.
The haters of the Qur’an, on the other hand, have one purpose,
And that is to prove that the Qur’an is not a Book confirming what’s in their possession of the Torah, the Gospels and the Hikmah,
If those cannot see that the Qur’an is their Book equally, delivered by the same messenger who delivered their own Book(s): it’s because they have not understood their own Book(s) either,
Those want only to use the Muslims’ backwardness and heathenry to praise themselves by comparing themselves with them,
Their moral, intellectual and spiritual standing, however, is same,
In a different set of circumstances, they’ll swap roles readily, as was the case many times in the past.]
29. Have you [generally] not seen that God lodges the night in the day and lodges the day in the night, and dedicated He the sun and the moon, each moving to an allotted term, and God is about what you do All Informed,
[Although the natural images and their movements that the verse conjures up in our imagination are awe inspiring …, at the esoteric level: this is alluding to the dual nature of the physical world, where every “thing” has its opposite within it,
And where the “sun” and the “moon” which come and go according to geometric predetermination, now witnessed in the cosmic manifestation:
In earlier eras of existence: were none but the pictorial representation of God’s messengers to humanity.
The ancient pagan worship of the sun and the moon are none but remnants of such memories, totally distorted then and now by religions.
The circle is the simplest image from which all images are deduced, and mathematics has recently reflected this philosophic reality,
So if you ask how did it all come about, if you say that there’s no intelligent design, but rather Existential Spontaneity,
The answer lies in one’s own memories …
But a geometric representation of it - and by saying geometric I’m not implying design, but also spontaneity – can be recounted as follows:
If one is the centre of awareness, the entire Horizon is an empty, bright and complete perceivability,
If one takes a swing about the centre, only a sector becomes visible, thus vision and periodicity – as in time – are conceived,
If one takes a farther departure: in the darkness of the distance: the now memory of Existence can only be visioned as a circle …
And The Absolute is The Source The Holder Sustainer Encompasser of Existence, else, there can be no null or existence,
And as Confucius the wise dictated to COB: nothing comes not from nothing;
In the end, spontaneity or design are choices of attitude and perspective, because once dissolved in the Cause of their Causer: they cease to be known.]
30. That is by that God is The Law, and what they invoke below Him is false, and God is Lofty [and] Grand,
31. Have you not seen that the orbiting planets traverse the Ocean by God’s Providence, so [God] shows you His Miracles, indeed in this are miracles for every forbearing and grateful one,
[People underestimate the mental and spiritual effort that it takes to reach a euphoria of admiration of the miracles of the cosmic manifestation …,
Content with their piety and religiousness, they come to the world and go totally unnoticing and inattentive,
They believe that the god of their religion and his prophet are their shelter from the might of nature,
Hence, all they could read in those verses is boats crossing the ocean, on their business travels ...]
32. And when waves like rain overcast their vision, they invoke God, devoting their redemption to Him, so when He veered them [we read “نحّاهم"]: some of them are aiming [at retaining their station of awareness], no one repudiates Our Miracles except every corrupt and distant one,
[The esoteric layer of all the Books is not a secret that religions can pretend to possess exclusively and to be privileged by it …
Truths cannot be made secret by humans to humans …
People’s memories and the entire creation is an open Book for whoever is capable of reaching it,
It is not subject to political decision or tribal privilegism,
If they have reached it: the verses open up to them,
The secret books that religions have written to say that they have special secrets and that they know the real meaning of the Book: are like their houses of rituals and their religious attires:
They do not bring down providence from the heavens, they do not inject knowledge into their heads …
When their time has expired, they will be washed away like many before them …
For them to see that the world is not run by their propaganda and deception …, and neither by the gods and the prophets ...]
33. O people, take refuge in your Lord, and fear the day when a father cannot bail his son, nor can a son bail his father about anything, God’s promise is Law, be not deluded by the low lives, and let not delusion delude you in God,
34. God has the knowledge of the Hour, drops He the rain [His Word], knows He what’s in the compassionate ones [His messengers]; and a self knows not what she will earn tomorrow, and a self knows not in which land she will die [be reborn], God is knower of all, All Informed
