Surah 36
Ya’ Seen
1. Ya’ Seen [Y S, letters of the Arabic alphabet. The significance of the letters of the Arabic alphabet which start some Surahs has been provided in previous readings.],
2. By the Philosophic Qur’an,
3. You are [addressing the messenger] of the messengers,
4. On a straight stratum [stratum, in the sense of a paved way.],
5. [That is] the descent [being the Book] of the Exalted the Compassionate,
[COB has used the verb “to descend” and “descent” unorthodoxly,
The thus resulting multilayered meaning, however, is in the spirit of the original text.]
6. To warn a people [of] what their fathers were warned; for, they are dormant,
[COB rejects the theory that Arabs didn’t have Books before the Qur’an completely, and has expressed this a few times,
Let’s not forget that Muhammad’s father’s name was Abdu ‘llah: the abider in Allah,
Which is a very popular name in the Middle East among all religions and sects thereof,
And let’s not forget the pre-Islamic poetry of Zuhayr bin abi Salma, which also mentions the glorious name of Allah,
And let’s not forget one of the prophet’s wives who was Christian, and his Jewish neighbour … just to mention a few facts which contradict Islamic scholars’ reading: “to warn a people whose fathers have not been warned”,
Islamic scholars have been too hasty to call themselves the only faithful people, having the only correct Book …
But, not unlike the religions which preceded or followed them …]
7. The say is due on most of them; for, they believe not,
[“Most of them”. Hence some them were true believers …]
8. We have made shackles in their necks, down to their beards, they are thus unable to drink,
9. And We have made between their hands [in front of them] a barrier and behind them a barrier, so We blinded them, and they see not,
[Again, the state of mind of distancing people, described symbolically, is understood by Islamic scholars to be a torture chamber in the afterlife,
One doesn’t have to look too far to witness firsthand the misery that religious people bring onto themselves, and the backwardness of their communities and countries … while stubbornly clinging to their irrational beliefs, in the hope of compensation in an afterlife …: to figure out who exactly is meant in those verses …
What keeps them in their misery is not the will of a sadistic god, but indeed their very adherence to their beliefs and traditions, while their clergy incessantly blast in their ears the call for them to be even more adhering …!
Thus the vicious cycle is accelerated, and the misery is intensified …, by the natural laws of this world ...]
10. It is equal to them, whether you warn them or not warn them: they do not believe,
11. That so, you warn them who follow the remembrance and fear Compassion Unseen, pass the glad tidings of forgiveness to them, and an honourable reward,
12. It is Us who enliven the dead and write what they have afforded and their legacy, and everything that We’ve counted clearly is in an Aim,Top of Form
13. And do draw [addressing the messenger] to them the model of a nation when the messengers came to them,
[The following narrative has started with “draw the model” or give the example …
As opposed to “remind” or “look” and “see”, by which the history of ancient and pre-ancient civilisations was started, this is saying that this is a pattern that has happened, and will happen in a future time,
Messengers have never stopped being sent to the world …
Abrahamic religions have each confined themselves to a past of their choosing …
They are thus unable to live in the present and unable to communicate with one another …]
14. When We sent two to them, they falsified both of them, so We backed them up by a third, they said: “we have been sent to you”,
15. They said: “you are no one but humans like us, Compassion hasn’t sent anything, you are only lying”,
16. They said: “our Lord knows that to you we’ve been sent,
17. “Upon us is only the delivery of the clarifying [message]”,
18. They said: “we have been spooked by you, if you don’t stop, we shall cast you out, and severe suffering will touch you from us”,
19. They said: “your spook is yours if you have been reminded; nay, you are extremist”,
20. And a man striving [on the Way] came from the far end of the town, said he: “O people, do follow the messengers,
21. “Follow them who ask you not for a reward, and they are guided,
22. “And wouldn’t I abide in Him Who illustrated me, and to Him you will be returned?
23. “Would I take gods below Him? if Compassion wants me harmed, their intercession insures me not against anything, neither do they rescue me,
24. “I would hence be in a far bewilderment,
25. “I have believed in your Lord, do listen to me”,
26. It was said: “enter the Garden”, said he: “if only my people knew,
27. “What my Lord has forgiven for me, and made me of the honoured ones”,
28. And We didn’t descend upon his people after him soldiers from the sky, and We were not descending,
29. It was but one cry, and there they were motionless,
30. Alas to the people, a messenger has not come to them of whom they were not derisive,1
31. Have they not seen how We vanquished many a nation before them: that to them they cannot return,
[Implying that nations reincarnate, as a culture and a religion, albeit in a different destiny …
The theory that the Druze have that everything is prerecorded and has been played many times over and being played now … makes the world the most boring place to be in, and reduces the creator to the lamest being, who enjoys watching the same video over and over due to his lack of new ideas …]
32. And that all together are in Us present,
[All potentials, actuals and past events which have materialised: exist simultaneously in the Law,
COB has given mathematics as an example …
The Gestalt of existent “things” and the laws which govern their birth in the physical world, their life and their demise: is the true Miracle: for anyone who have noticed it from a distance …]
33. And a marvel to them is the dead land, We revived it and We brought grains/love [a possible reading is “حُبا", to give the esoteric reading] out from it, from it they eat,
34. And We made in it gardens of palm trees/the pick [as in the best], and grapes/steps [we read “أعتاب”], and We dawned Eyes in it,
[The Visions of the approaching are many and universally described in all the Books …
As for the photos of people that you hang on your walls then you say that you saw them in your vision: the best explanation to that can be given by a psychoanalyst,
As for the still images that you vision without prior knowledge: those are like invitations,
If you accept them, it's because they fit your rank of awareness,
A wise meditator doesn't fall in the trap of an image being cast on the retina of their eyes, whether from within or without ...
Vision cannot be reached like physical objects, not by physical eyes, and neither can a camera catch it …
Ever since it was said in the Ten Commandments: thou shalt not take a graven image: Abrahamic religions have not stopped inventing new graven images, bypassing their understanding of the commandment …
It is an extremely fine line … words cannot give it justice and can be quickly interpreted to fall on either side ...]
35. For them to eat from its fruit and the labour of their hands, are they not thankful?
[If Muslims insist on reading food and money and other physical things in those verses: this is what they will get …]
37. And a marvel to them is the night, We strip the day from it, and there they are darkened,
[COB has a view of light and darkness in the Book of Hasshaam on the website …, as to how light and darkness were first conceived … from the Light that transcends light and darkness.]
38. And the sun traverses in a settlement for itself, this is the predetermination of the Exalted the Omniscient,
39. And the moon, We predetermined it in phases, till it comes back like a pastel [the obscure part of it when a new crescent is born],
[Before the laws of classical mechanics were known, Abrahamic religions were telling the world that a god moved celestial objects around the earth at his whim …
Hence the revelation that Galileo, Kepler, Newton … and many others have initiated: was seen by the Church as a threat to its beliefs and authority …
And before them, astronomers and scientists of the Arab civilisation were also accused of kufr (heresy) and were often tortured and murdered …
But reason is stronger because it is universal and is in every human’s mind, just waiting to be uncovered there …
And belief is an emotional attachment to a concept, which is demonstrably fallacious …
The contention between reason and fallacy, however, hasn’t ended completely, and it is making a comeback in the West,
As for the Middle East, reason still doesn’t seem to have a place in it at all, even to the academia …!
And most Middle Easterners who would like to think that they are secular and logical, attend universities to study sciences: with the preconception that their belief is right and other beliefs are wrong …
Hence their education hasn’t humanised them … and when it comes to matters of belief, with all that it entails of religious bigotry and the faith in a god who created them to reward them, and created their enemies to punish them …: they stand at the same moral and intellectual level as their heathen ancestors …
And as COB opens the Books, the people of beliefs in the East as well as the West feel threatened again,
This time, it is their very Books that are being shown to teach reason,
Thus religions' philosophic foundations are being falsified, and their fairytales discarded …
Their hiding their heads in the sand will not be sustainable for a long time …
Religious authorities cannot change the course of time.]
40. Neither is the sun meant to reach the moon, and nor can the night overtake the day, each in an orbit swim,
[The precision and the flawlessness of the cosmic geometry is a marvel for the people who are alive and capable of looking …
And the fact that this can be expressed mathematically, by abstract concepts represented by scribbles of signs and symbols … is a pointer to its presence in the innateness of the human mind …
Above the abstraction is the essence that the moon and the sun are early manifestations of the messengers who light up the dark world of duality … where each has a role to perform,
Those roles cannot overlap …
And like the moon is obscured to be reborn …, grows and upon its completion a circle is achieved, so do messengers’ lives in the world as ordinary people …
From the sun they grow and light up to dissipate the darkness …
And although seeming totally independent, and perhaps intellectually mutually contradictory: their Aim is One.]
41. And a marvel to them is that We carried their offspring in the loaded orbit [we read “فَلَك"],
42. And We created for them a similar that they ride,
43. Will We, We would drown them, no grave [we read “ضريح”] is for them, and neither are they rescued,
44. It’s only compassion from Us, and leisure for a term,
[Many a time, Islamic scholars thought they were qualified to correct god’s words …
In this case the word “ذريّتهم” was meant to mean ancestors, and not descendants, in their brilliant minds …!
If they had a speck of scholastic integrity, they would say: we don’t know what this means exactly …
But they write, and if anyone questions their writing, they’re quick to say: do you know better than god?
The gods that religions and their branches have represented: are on their way down from their illusionary thrones; and their clergy: the guardians of hell are going to lose their long held authority …, they had better be prepared …
In COB’s view, the verse is saying that humanity spreads on planets hospitable to life … and that people are capable of building flying objects and artificial planets …
In a not too far future, people will attempt to colonise some of the planets and the moons of the Solar System, and artificial planets will become a reality, and groups of people will want to live in them, away from what they see as the madness of humanity on earth and random natural events …
But their experiments can go wrong. People cannot escape the rule of the Law.]
45. And when it is said to them: “take refuge from what’s between your hands [the present] and what’s behind you”,
46. Not a Paragon from their Lord’s Paragons has come to them from which they didn’t turn away,
47. And if they are told: “expend what God provided you”, said those who are distanced: “are we to feed the ones who, if God willed, He would’ve fed them? you are but in a far bewilderment”,
[This is the answer to the religions of past and present, which believe that their Books and their knowledge is exclusive to their tribes and races …
In the past the Jews used to hold such beliefs, and nowadays the Druze have followed their steps …
Although people have different aptitudes and different interests in the world, the provision of knowledge should never be limited by racial or tribal considerations …
Such restrictions are based on the belief that god created the peoples as good and bad right from the beginning, and that everything has been pre-judged already …!
From such standpoint, it’s pointless to make any effort to learn anything, and everything has been predetermined, and you don’t even try to change anything …!
But you see people who hold such beliefs: so keen on working hard and learning new skills to become rich and powerful …!
If they do something, they say it’s because god has written it, and if they don’t do it, they say it’s because god has not written it …!
Matters of livelihood and matters of belief are separated in their mind by self-deception,
But the complacency and the self-deception are quickly exposed and challenged … when those people are led to mix and interact with others, and when time confronts them with unexpected problems …, and they find that they have no predetermined answers to new questions …
Ironically and rather tragically, they end up following the beliefs of other people … rather than guiding them!]
48. And they say: “when is this appointment if you were honest?”,
49. They wait none but a single cry that takes them while they dispute,
50. Then, they are incapable of [passing down] a will, nor to their tribes can they return,
51. And it is blown into the Apex, and there they are, from the graves/events [we read “أحداث" as well, both readings convey the same essence] coming out,
52. They say: “woe to us, who has revived us from this grave/hibernation of ours? this is what Compassion has promised, and the messengers have spoken truth”,
53. It was only a single cry, and there they are all in Us present,
54. Today nothing is obscured from any self [alternatively: no self is wronged about anything], and you are not rewarded except by what you were doing,
[The theory that Abrahamic religions which do not believe in reincarnation have adopted, concerning Resurrection: that the souls of the dead remain in the graves …, until god tells them to come out to face justice …: denies the existence of the virtue of justice, and tells the believers in it to believe in an arbitrary and sadistic god …
Little wonder why Abrahamic religions can never agree on anything, and moreover: justice in their minds translates to wrong done to others …
Each religion justifies the wrong they perpetrate on others by their understanding of the local justice: that is backed up by their god …
On the other hand, what is being said in those verses is a phenomenon that humanity is in constant denial of …
And that is the cosmic manifestation is not a linear progression form the Big Bang/Creation to the present,
But is comes and goes unexpectedly …
When an end is near, a blowing sound can be felt in the very top of one’s head …
This is opening the gates of memory of past existences and potential future ones …
People who can hold on to sleeping wakefulness in the early morning hours might’ve heard it and dismissed it …
It brings back old and future memories …
The big one, however, is when it’s global and so powerful, that people are almost knocked out … crying help, of confusion … unless they’ve prepared their hearts and minds for it …
A prelude to it is when pregnancies of animals and humans will no longer be delivered …
What happens after that …?
Archeological evidence of totally empty places, which could not have been discovered by looters, and constructions abruptly abandoned …: in my mind point to past such Events,
The cosmic manifestation begins and ends and re-begins …, reflecting old memories,
Physical things are not a continuation of physical things …
The human is the universe and the universe is the human: everything we see out there is the accumulation of eons of our life cycles …]
55. The people of the Garden are busy today being happy,
56. They and their pairs [alphas or souls] in heights/on the surface of the water, leaning on arch-chairs,
57. In it they have fruit and for them is what they invoke [we read “يدْعون"],
58. Peace said [upon them] from a Compassionate Lord,
[Hindu mythological art depicts Krishna and the high beings leaning, as if the entire cosmic manifestation is their seat, … and on the surface of the Okeanos of existence, and in places overlooking cosmic manifestation …
It’s a shame that Muslims find such works of art expressing paganism and kufr (heresy), while they invite the people to a holiday resort of food and sex …!
And it’s a shame that Indian gurus think of themselves as worlds above the Books of the Middle East, when the Supreme Beings that they and their followers say they abide by: were themselves the bringers of those Books …
And as the war threatens to break out between India and Pakistan now: COB invites the religious and political leaders on both sides to stop fueling the masses’ passions with nationalistic and religious fervour,
With both countries’ pride of their nuclear weapons - and as if the possession of them is a sign of progress and intelligence: this is not a war that can be won, but indeed a one that can destroy both …]
59. And do fall down [we read “امتروا"] today, O you criminals,
60. Have I not covenanted with you O children of Adam not to worship Satan, indeed he is to you a divisive enemy,
61. And that do abide in Me, this is a straight stratum,
62. Bewildered he many a generation [we read “جيلًا”] of you, did you not ever reason?
63. This is the inferno that you have been promised,
64. Attend it today, by what you were disbelieving,
[The inferno, the low world of physical existence in the distance …
The world of passions, struggle and sensual pleasures …
Where a moment of pleasure is paid for by many days of suffering, and injustice is rectified by more injustice …
If the people desire it … they have to adhere to the Law for it to be pain free,
And, this very Book has said it: that the Law doesn’t allow lawlessness, and even if it takes many more life cycles to eradicate …]
65. Today We seal their mouths and their hands talk to Us, also their legs bear witness to what they were earning,
66. Will We, We would smite their eyes, so they are out of step on the stratum, how will they see?
67. Will We, We would staple [we read “مسحناهم”] them to their positions, so they are unable to carry on, and they can’t go back,
[The physical appearance of people is reflective of their status of awareness …
In this time and age all people have been awarded the same beautiful human physique,
That’s been for the people to use as a bridge of communication between one another, and to inter-marry and mix …
But this hasn’t always been the case in previous cycles of human existence …
Perhaps the major cause of the demise of the previous cycle was the interracial hatred …!
So the verse is hinting that the human body can vary in appearance as well as physical and mental capabilities … all as the result of one’s own thoughts and deeds.]
68. And upon whomever We bestow Grandeur We reduce in creation; do they not discern?
69. And We have not taught him [the messenger Gabriel] poetry, and he is not meant to [learn it]; it is but a Lectrum/Qur’an discriminant/clarifying,
70. To warn whoever is alive, and thus the say is due on the distant ones,
[The problem is: the distant ones believe that they are alive if they can breathe and recycle organic matter and multiply … as their exegesis of this verse and the following ones implies …]
71. Have they not seen that We’ve created Bounties for them, of what Our Arms have made, they [the Bounties] are of it [Our Arms] the Rulers,
72. And We lowered them for them, from them are their rides/planets, and from them they eat/learn,
73. For them [the people] in them [the Bounties] are benefits and routes [we read “مسارب"], do they [the people] not think?
74. And they took gods below God, hoping to be victorious,
75. They are incapable of making them victorious, they [the people] are for them [the gods] soldiers mustered,
76. Be not saddened [addressing the messenger] by their say, We know what they secret and what they disclose,
77. Has mankind not seen that We created it from a Drop, and there it is: a disputing defector,
78. And it [mankind] drew a model to Us [the theories of creation and evolution] and forgot its Creation! it said: “who enlivens the bones when bare?”
79. Say: “enlivens it He Who constructed it the first time, and is He of the Creation All Knower,
80. “He Who made for you fire from green trees, and there you are, from it you fuel,
81. “Isn’t He Who created the heavens and the earth Capable of creating similar? yes, is He the Creator the Omniscient,
82. “That so, His Aim when He wants a thing, that He says to it ‘be’, and it becomes,
83. “Transcends He is Whose Hand is the Kingdom of all things, to Him you are returned”
