Surah 50
Qaaf
1. Qaaf (ق), by the Glorious Lectrum/Qur’an,
2. Nay, they are astonished that a warner came to them from them, and the distancing ones said: “this is a questionable/astonishing thing,
3. “So when we died and were dust … this is a far return”,
4. We know the earth is not reduced of them, and We have a recording Book,
5. Nay, they falsified the Law when it came to them, hence they are in a chaotic aim,
[The belief that the number of people is constant is a better approach than saying that god keeps the dead in the graves and constantly creates new souls …
Not only the latter blows away every sense of heavenly justice, but also makes no sense,
The theories around where people come from where they go to: will always be a challenge to the human intellect,
The theories of materialism and evolution dodge this question by denying any life before or after …
In any case: the moral implications, and the accountability of human actions: determine people’s destinies … in this very life,
Hence the chaos that the world lives in … with every religion or atheist philosophy wanting to force its view of the world and dictate to it the destiny that it thinks is best …]
6. Have they not looked at the sky above them? how We constructed it and ornated it, and what it has of gaps,
7. And the earth, We expanded it and laid anchors in it, and We sprouted in it of every brilliant pair,
[The anchors being the spots on the earth that are the projection of celestial objects …
This is a branch of “science” that seems to have thrived in pre-ancient civilisations, and in the present it’s a total unknown …]
8. A lookout and a memory to every abider [in God] returning one,
9. And We dropped water from the sky blessed, so We sprouted by it gardens and the grains of the crops,
10. And the palm trees thriving, have they the fruit clustered,
11. Providence to the abiders, and We enlivened by it a dead town, thus also is the Exit,
12. Have lied before them: the people of Noah and the people of the Rass and Thamud,
13. And Ad and the Pharaoh and the brothers of Lott,
14. And the people of the big tree, and the people following, each falsified the messengers, hence My promise was due,
15. Have We been overburdened by the first creation? nay, they are in an incarnation/dress of a new creation,
[It is only a matter of time until some of the ruins of past humans are proven to be tens of thousands or hundreds of millions of years old, and that human civilisations have always been on earth and other planets …
Academics are joining forces with religions nowadays, ironically, to reaffirm the theories of religions …!
This keeps two diametrical theses alive, and human morality and intellect stagnate in the six-thousand-year-old debate …
The Torahic and Qur’anic interpreters want the world to remain in the contours of their narrative: that all the civilisations mentioned in their Books were those of their own ancient Hebrew and Arab tribes …
That’s because, by doing so, their both academic and religious theories can be presented as true, and humanity’s moral foundations and its accountability: remain as chaotic as they are now …
They can’t see that this is the surest way to a total destruction: by the physical law itself which gave birth to opposing theories …
Those verses are reminders of similar past errors and their consequences, and that life on earth continues on, regardless of people’s beliefs …]
16. And We have created man, and We know what his [own] self insinuates to him, and We are closer to him than the jugular vein,
17. When the two meetings meet, about the right and about the left in a settlement,
[The connection from the brain to the heart via the jugular vein starts off with two branches, from either side of the brain, meeting in the jugular vein,
This is not about two angels sitting on people’s shoulders to record their bad deeds and good deeds, except in the minds of Islamic scholars,
The allusion is to the connection between heart and mind,
Medical science looks at this vein is a mere conveyer of blood, but the allusion is to its role in transmitting emotions to be experienced in the heart,
Recent research has provided evidence to the heart being a thinking machine rather than just a blood pump, reviving thus the ancient belief that in it most, or at least some conscious activity occurs.]
18. He utters not a say except with an Invested Monitor with him,
[The expression “the Invested Monitor” (ألرقيب العتيد) has been used in the Hikmah to point to the Whole Mind, or the Law (ألحق) as the most frequently used Qur’anic term that points to the Holy Spirit: which is the One Cause of all,
All Abrahamic religions still struggle with the comprehension of this, that has had many different names in their Books, and they looked rather for mundane laws, a ghost or a man: as representatives of al-Haqq,
The acknowledgement of Pythagoras, Salman and Hamzah by the Druze has not given them much of a lead over their predecessors:
Firstly, the Archangel Gabriel was not on their list of Holy Names (ألأسماء الحسنى), as we shall read them in Surah 59,
Secondly, they’ve reduced his Role as the Cosmic Eventuality to being a messenger and an enforcer of his Lord’s law in the world, and a judge between the people and their prophets,
And while those duties are real, they are not the Law,
Thirdly, they’ve made an opposite to him, being Satan, who challenges him and teases him, because god found him to be self-conceited …
A physical manifestation has to undergo physical laws no doubt, but the manifestation is not itself the Law,
Hence it is an impossibility that the Law have an opposite,
Those essences have been explained in the Ghita is some detail,
When the Ghita was read in Arabic over ten years ago now: the Druze were primarily on my mind, in the hope of revealing to them the Encompassment of the The Whole Mind, the Invested Monitor,
The Light from which light and darkness emerge …
The Light that is Existence above duality and oppositeness …
If anyone is to have an opposite it is the self,
The self which ventured in a conceived three-dimensional space: to the dark side of the moon,
There she witnessed her fear of the unknown,
Satan was hence conceived, and his frightening and ugly image had to be embellished and his beastliness had to be tamed by the Light of Compassion that she reflected onto him.]
19. And drunkenness in death has come by the Law, this is what you’ve been evading,
20. And it is blown into the apex [the top of one's head], this is the day of the promise,
21. And every self has come, accompanied by a forerunner [we read “سابق”] and a Witness,
22. You were oblivious of this, so We’ve taken your cover off you, and your vision is today piercing,
[Horror stories have been woven by Islamic scholars around these verses, which in fact describe a peak of joy and liberation, hence words like “drunkenness” or a euphoria of pleasure … are often borrowed, but this is a state of mind that is way above these physical connotations …
But like a rope helps you to climb up high cliffs and mountains, such words will take you to whichever height you can envisage,
The difference between the rope and the word is that the rope terminates at a peak, but the word has an unlimited reach …
The death that is mentioned here is not the only death that the people of Abrahamic religions know, which is the cessation of physical life …, but it is the cessation of physical … attachment …
But what’s the point in carefully choosing the words, in order to describe a high level of awareness? It has been done many times …
Perhaps the closest similar recount can be found in Plotinus’s Enneads, and is hinted to in the correspondence letters between Baha’u Deen and the Indian king of the Hikmah,
People have to want this to be able to reach it,
And before wanting it they have to be able to know it, fearless from life, fearless from its cessation,
Otherwise, they climb up a bit and take a view higher than ordinary people’s,
They stop there and celebrate, believing they have been enlightened, and often embark on a career of fake prophethood and spiritual teaching, wishful of being experts in god and his books and laws …]
23. And his companion said: “this that I have is well-established/invested”,
24. Throw [addressing the forerunner and the witness, in the other case] in the inferno every stubborn disbeliever,
[Trust me, this is not seen by the thrown soul as a punishment, but in fact this is its most desired place, particularly to the pious people of religions, who have coveted a paradise and some salvation according to the description of their holy men …]
25. A preventer of good, aggressor, confuser,
26. Who made with God another god, [both of you] throw him in the severe suffering,
27. And his companion said: “our Lord, I did not make him tyrannical, but [he/she] was in a far bewilderment”,
[The companion being one’s alpha, or soul, or the repository of all one's existences …
This one is named a forerunner in the case of a free soul,
This is the one who looks you in your mirror, once a mutual recognition has occurred …
People who work hard to live a virtuous life need not be too concerned about this …
If they are enjoying their life journey and are helpful to themselves and other beings: they should relax and keep going and learning,
It is those big egos who want to stand out among ordinary people, who take such words and pretend to be the experts,
Such words have to be said though,
It is not an easy balance …:]
28. Said He: “quarrel not in Me, and I have presented you with the promise,
29. “The say is not altered in Me, and I’m not wronging people”,
30. The day We say to the inferno: “are you full?”, and it says: “is there more?”,
31. And the garden is drawn nigh to the refuging ones non-far,
32. This is what you were promised, for every returner guarder,
33. Who has been fearful of Compassion Unseen, and came with a recurring heart,
34. Enter it peacefully, this is the day of permanence,
35. They have in it what they will, and We have more,
36. And how many a century/country of a stronger impact before them have we destroyed? they searched the countries, is there a way out?
37. In this is remembrance to everyone with a heart, or lent an ear while witnessed
38. We have created the heavens and the earth and what’s between them in six Days, and We were not touched by exhaustion,
39. Be patient [addressing the messenger] over what they say, and transcend in the Homage to your Lord, before the sunrise and before the sunset,
40. And in the night, transcend in Him, and in the circles [we read “أديار"] of prostration,
[Different avenues open during the 24-hour day. Sunrise and sunset, with skies displaying splendor to everyone: are connections to people who can receive them,
Far above piety and ritualistic behaviour, this is a call to lend an ear while witnessing,
This is providence that religions cannot have a monopoly of, and in fact do not have any share in it …
They are still working hard to keep their followers in the grots of subservience to their pagan gods and their servants and guardians,
So that when the new time cycle starts, they still have a crowd to rule, and the low life continues on …
Those who want to be with them: good luck to them, but anyone with the smallest spark of faith in their human minds: should shun them, before it is too late …]
41. And listen, the day when a caller calls out from a near place,
[Inside one’s own head …]
42. The day they hear the outcry by the Law, this is the day of exit,
43. That We are Who enliven and deaden, and to Us is the becoming,
44. The day when the ground cracks about them quickly, this is a gathering to Us facile,
45. We are better informed about what they say, you [the messenger] are not over them a tryer [we read “بِخَبّار"], do remind by the Qur'an everyone fearful of My promise
